Immersion Trip to saint meinrad archabbey

Immersion trips are a spring break tradition at Hope College that involves groups of students, along with faculty and staff mentors, traveling to different parts of the world to immerse themselves in the good work of local missionaries.

The Saint Benedict Institute brings students to Saint Meinrad Archabbey in the hills of rural southern Indiana each year during spring break. The life of the monks at the monastery revolves around prayer and work for the love of God and neighbor. This immersion trip allows Hope students to enter into the rhythms of monastic life for a week, beginning with vigil prayers at 5:30 a.m. in the abbey church. The prayer is beautiful, the setting is tranquil, and the people are joyful.

The goal of the Saint Benedict Institute’s immersion trip is to form students in the Catholic tradition, to develop strong Catholic student leaders at Hope College, and to introduce students to the richness of Catholic spirituality. Please pray for the students who attend these trips!
